For most people, funeral arrangements are the last thing on their mind, but taking some time now to pre-plan your funeral can mean that your loved ones do not have difficult decisions to make or unnecessary financial burdens to deal with when you die.
Taking some time to discuss your wishes with your family and making plans for the end of your life-such as making a will and planning your funeral- can mean that when the time comes your family knows exactly what you wanted and can put your plans into action quickly and easily.
At Saint and Forster we can help you to plan your funeral with a tailor made ‘Wish List’ that can be kept with other family documents until it is needed.
The price of funerals has risen steadily over the last few years and there is every indication that it will continue to do so in the future. By taking out a funeral plan now you can fix the funeral directors costs as they are at this moment in time. At Saint and Forster we are delighted to be able to offer funeral plans in conjunction with Ecclesiastical Planning Services.
Unlike most other funeral plan providers, EPS does not limit customers or funeral directors to a number of ‘packages’. You can decide exactly what you would like, perhaps in conjunction with a ‘Wish List’ and we will give you a price for your plan which is based on this. Another unusual feature of EPS is that they allow funeral directors to set their own prices for their plans rather than setting them nationally themselves. What this means to you as a customer is that when you buy a funeral plan from us you will get exactly what you want, not a pre-arranged package, and you will get it at our prices, allowing you to take advantage of the excellent value for money that we are able to offer. EPS also has a very low administration charge compared to most other funeral plan providers of only £175.
You are guaranteed that the plan will cover the funeral directors costs, no matter how far in the future it is needed, However, the cost of ‘disbursements’ (charges which the funeral director pays on your behalf, for example to doctors, clergy and crematoria) rise every year and there may be a small extra payment at the time of need to cover rises in these charges. Alternatively you can choose to include an extra amount towards the cost of disbursements in your plan to take account of this, or to purchase a plan which does not include disbursements and pay these separately at the time of need. Pre-paid plans can be tailored to meet your exact requirements and can be completed in conjunction with our ‘Wish List’. Pre-paid plans can be settled all at once or in a number of instalment plans to suit yourself. Ecclesiastical Planning Services Limited, our pre-payment funeral plan provider, is registered with the Funeral Planning Authority so you know that your money will be in safe hands until you need it.
As a general guide, a simple cremation funeral plan from Saint and Forster with a simple veneered coffin and a minister would cost £2,967 including administration fee making it excellent value for money.
