Here at Saint and Forster we are looking forward to the coming year.
2012 was very exciting and saw our business begin to take off in a new way. Whilst it is always sad when someone passes away, it has been a huge priviledge to be able to help so many families at such a difficult time and, hopefully, to be able to make the situation a little bit better for them.
We have made a lot of new friends, particularly via the Good Funeral Guide, and it has been wonderful to be able to share our ideas and experiences and to benefit from the wisdom and experience of so many compassionate and committed people. We are all now Fellows of the Society of Bereavement Practitioners with myself as Membership Officer as well as Keith’s apointment as Vice President. We look forward to working closely with the SBP on some very exciting projects next year!
We have continued to develop and expand the services we offer to our clients and we now use a Mercedes Fleet as standard as well as having access to some of the more unusual forms of transportation! We have seen some big changes at the office as well with some major refurbishment giving us a lovely new arrangement room and a beautiful new chapel. November saw the dedication of the chapel by our good friend the Rev. George Callander for the use of all faiths and none a a place of hope, reflection and friendship. We invite families to ‘take over’ the chapel and use it as an extension of their home while we are taking care of one of their own.
So, after an exciting year we are looking forward to all that is to come in 2013 and we will be seeking to improve even further on the care and service we offer to all in their time of need. We are also looking to expand our programme of education, encouraging people to talk openly about death and dying and to demand more from the funeral service. Look out for us at the Transitus Festival in York this September!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
